MY DREAM : CROSSING THE ATLANTIC

Since I've been a young boy, I've dreamed about crossing the "Big Sea". The thought of sailing to the other side always gave me goosebumps, it stood for such a challenging adventure! Heroes like Yves Parlier, Sir Robin Knox-Johnson and Dame Ellen MacArthur made me jealous in the right way. I admire them for their persistence, their daring adventures and seamanship. Their achievements inspired me and made my dream of crossing the ocean persistant. Something I would do when I became a grown up...

Today, after years of sailing all over the world, I still haven't crossed the ocean. I've always kept telling myself that my time to achieve my dream would come. One day there would be an opportunity to sail across. Once there would be somebody who would ask me to come along, there would be a chance I could grasp. Some day that day would come.... Hence, I have to be honest to myself. I'm that grown up now and keep waiting for that moment for somebody else to create the possibility for me is not a growth mindset! 

So when I read about the ClassGlobe 5.80 transat, I immidiately realized my dream became within reach and I didn't have to take it long in consideration. For me the time has come to stop dreaming and start doing. The circumstances are right, so it's now or never. I have this great goal, I am going for it and will try and reach for the maximum result. I am going to make my dream come true!

And yes, I am experienced, adventurous and seriously passioned about sailing enough to do it all alone!

I think it's such a mind blowing opportunity to participate in this expedition with a tiny baot as the ClassGlobe 5.80, which I will be building myself ,and that's why the boat will be named "Biggest Monkey".  When you are alone on a tiny boat like this, alone on the wide ocean without land in sight, I belief you can feel like the "Biggest Monkey" but at the same time as the smallest...
